What we are
RefundCalculator (refundcalculator.co.uk) is a free library of UK tax refund estimators and guides. Each calculator runs entirely in your browser against a versioned set of rates taken from official sources, shows you the full working, and states plainly what an estimate cannot know.
What we are not
- Not HMRC.We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to HM Revenue & Customs, the UK government, or the Student Loans Company. GOV.UK services referenced here belong to the Crown.
- Not a claims company. We never take a percentage of a refund, never submit claims for you, and never ask for your Government Gateway login.
- Not tax advisers.Nothing on this site is personal advice. Complex situations deserve a qualified professional — or HMRC's free helplines.
The promises every page is held to
- The arithmetic behind every estimate is visible.
- The free HMRC route is always shown alongside any result.
- Inputs never leave your device; there is no account and no data harvesting.
- Rates are versioned per tax year, sources are published, and 2026-27 provisional figures are labelled as such.
- Errors, when they happen, are corrected publicly through our corrections log.
